Wheelchair-Accessible Staterooms

Disney Cruise Line designed each of it’s staterooms with families in mind and that means every member of the family. All Disney Cruise Line Ships have wheelchair-friendly staterooms and features, and not just in one or two categories. Nearly every stateroom category – from Standard Inside Staterooms through Concierge Staterooms with Verandahs – has Wheelchair-Accessible Staterooms available for guests to reserve.

Stateroom Features

The living space in each Wheelchair-Accessible Stateroom includes the following features.

  • 32″ doors (minimum)
  • Lowered closet bars
  • Emergency alarm buttons next to bed (please contact Guest Services to activate)
  • Open frame queen bed

Each bathroom is also designed to make ADL’s as normal as they are at home.

  • Ramped threshold
  • Roll-in shower with fold-down seat, grab bars and adjustable-height showerhead
  • Emergency pull cord (please contact Guest Services to activate)
  • Lowered towel bars
  • Toilet with grab bars
  • Accessible vanity with mirror and sink

Other Special Accessibility Features

Guests who have special needs but do not require a wheelchair-friendly room can request adaptive aids for use in any stateroom:

  • Bed board
  • Bedrail
  • Portable toilet
  • Raised toilet seat
  • Shower stool
  • Transfer bench
  • Stateroom Communication Kits containing door knock and phone alerts, bed shaker notification, and a strobe light smoke detector. A stateroom Text Typewriter (TTY) is available upon request.

Please make requests at least 60 days prior to your cruise.

A small sharps container for the disposal of needles, syringes and lancets is located in each stateroom bathroom. If you need a sharps container in your stateroom and do not see one, please tell the Crew Member who attends to your stateroom and a container will be provided. Sharps containers are also located in public restrooms.
